Lupus Genetics Research Project
This study seeks to identify the genetic and environmental causes of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), also known as lupus.

Criteria for participation
Patients with a definite diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

What is involved
  1. Complete a questionnaire.
  2. Sign a consent form, and medical records release form to allow researchers to obtain medical records relating to the diagnosis and treatment of SLE.
  3. Provide a saliva sample and/or blood sample

Participation is quick and easy and can be completed by mail! You do not have to live in San Francisco to participate in this study. Enrollment paperwork and sample kits are mailed to study participants’ homes so they can complete them at their own convenience and return them to us via mail. All information is kept confidential.

While it is not required, it is especially helpful to compare the genes of lupus patients with those of at least one living parent, brother or sister. Family members do not need to have lupus to participate.

If you are interested in participating, or if you have any questions, please contact us toll free at 1-888-223-3067 x1 or click here to email us
